This game is completely unplayable. The driving is terrible and the controls with touch controllers are jumpy and just feel broken. The bouncy physics, high speed and crap controls combine in a headache-inducing pinball-like experience where I just bounce into walls, respawn, bounce into walls, respawn... etc. What should be a chill drive while listening to some good music ends up an excercise in frustration.Love the idea but the execution is plain broken.. Stereo Sayian is just too good on this game, i can go even further beyond...11/10. Rain literally makes this game unplayable, can't see anything. Refunded.. Played on oculus rift. How can this have even one positive review? Are they insiders? Scammers? Is it the first game they've ever played? Cause it's awful. Truly awful in every way.. I'm gonna be honest, it's hard for me to give this a thumbs-up review, but I think it's good enough for one, at least while it's in Early Access. If it pops out any time soon in the current state it's in, I'll try and remember to change the thum to down. I've been wanting a game like this since I got my Rift. Blaring my music, weaving through traffic at high speeds, the environment reacting to the beat, and so much of a visual overload that I forget I'm driving. In those respects, the game is fantastic. Pretty much all I could've hoped for, it's like I'm driving through the middle of a Windows Media Player visualizer, and that's where the thumbs-up comes from. That said, I'm refunding it. I can't stand the driving. The driving physics are all kinds of wonky. It's like if Sonic the Hedgehog was first-person and tank controls. Wherever you aim, you go, at high speeds, without even a hint of losing grip (unless you're playing in drift mode, in which case good luck getting any grip in the first place, you're in a land-boat). I've played for just over half an hour, and I've got a headache. Sure, it might be the pretty colors and flashes (probably not though), or it's that the car feels so much like I just turned on smooth turning in a game, which is known to hurt my eyes and give me a headache. It doesn't really stop there, either. I don't own a driving wheel, so I played this with a controller. Because the game is so little like driving, the sticks feel so incredibly oversensitive. You can use about 20% of the x axis without the car flying into a wall. Maybe I'm underestimating, but it certainly didn't feel that way with my Rift on. Oh, and from what I can tell, there's no way to reverse, so if you hit a car at a bad angle and go into a wall, you're sitting there until you end the song or it ends on its own. Maybe there is one, I dunno, but I didn't see it and it's bound to a weird key, if it exists.TL;DR:The big takeaway of this is if you want a nice sensory overload to help you relax a bit, give it a shot. You can always refund it if you hate it. If you want a DRIVING game, you should probably pass this up. 10/10 aesthetics, 2/10 gameplay. Maybe some day eventually I'll check it out again and this 6/10 overall will suddenly be a hidden 10/10 must-play gem, but that's not right now. It's more of an experience than a game.. I was initially going to refund this, since there's not much to it. However, upon seeing that the developer has done a lot to the game in the past, adding and detracting from it, I changed my mind. These type of VR games definitely deserve everyone's support, and the game is quite unique. I especially like how the sky lights up in a thunderous way to the beat of my music.. An extrememly exhilarating game and an awesome concept. Easily the most fun I've had so far in VR. Highly recommended. You can easily search for songs from YouTube (or use featured or local files if you want). It really does feel like you're in a moving car that you're controlling. A few different modes, such as Realism or Classic, or the Neon environment.Definitely worth the $7. v1.1.1.4: Improved the Neon environment visualsFixed and improved rain effects (fixed mist and improved rain visibility)Added rain and lightning into the Neon mode. v1.0.8.1: This is a quick update for the feedback received. In the next update I'll be looking into optimizing the Forest and City environments with reflections enabled. Please let me know how good/bad your frame rate is in VR with reflections enabled! And also what you would like to see done next!Changes:Added mode selection (Arcade, Hardcore, Hardcore drift)Added speed mode selection (Medium, Fast)Added traffic car count sliderAdded road width sliderAdded a "No real-time reflections" optionTweaked map generationImproved non-VR field of viewAdded a separate highscore for each setting combinationInternal cleaning up (removed over 8700 lines and 1.4GB)Fixed light halosSmall fixes. v1.4.2.4: Changed handling and physics to be fun arcade driftingChaos in Traffic is backIncreased accelerationFixed barely working brakesExtended road width in RallyRemoved Getaway modeImproved rain on windows. v1.1.0.3: Been trying to optimize real-time mirrors for a new gamemode yesterday, but since that didn't work, I've added a different new mode and improved visuals instead.Added new gamemode with bumpy narrow road - RallyAdded volumetric lights. v1.5.0.0: Changes:New and improved custom physics (like in the old versions)Road is now straight, turns replaced by dodging traffic, hills still exist though (a trade-off for easier environment creation)Extended road generation a lot furtherChanged the environmentIncreased speed and added automatic speed back (survival like mode)Improved beat detectionChanged beats to be traffic conesImproved clouds and skyImproved headlightsAdded day/night cycleAdded birdsRemoved real-time reflections (too heavy for performance)Removed shadows (too heavy for performance)Removed replaysRemoved multiplayerMany bug fixes/small improvements/optimizationsHello, I'm back with another update (it's an early version of the classic ADN being restored and built upon). I took a break (again) and when I played the game yesterday, I didn't really like the latest version. Drifting and physics in general didn't work very well, it felt slow and not very interesting to play. I know I've said it before, but I'm returning the game to how it was intended to be from the start...for real this time. The "realistic" physics are now gone, but fast speed, more traffic, events and environments are coming back. The physics now work in a similar way to what it used to be on release, except much better this time. The game will return to being arcade when it comes to physics and gameplay, but will have semi realistic visuals (in VR especially). There isn't many options in this version and I think I'll actually keep most options dynamic. Instead of selecting a single non changing environment, environments will change in-game like it used to at one point. I've found that I kept on trying to add more modes and other mechanics, which ended up being removed or not updated, so I'll keep this single mode now, maybe with some variations. I'll add more content soon (like birds in this update and more scenery), looking at older discussions posts and etc.. v1.1.2.0: I've tried making the driving feel faster, more fun and the results are available in this update!Made the beats appear as a racing lineIncreased acceleration and top speed (from 340 km/h to 440 km/h)Improved car handling even moreImproved suspension (less bouncy now)Improved force feedbackFixed and improved Neon environment visualsActually fixed rain distance this time. v1.5.0.3: Improved overall rain effectsImproved Convertible car's engine soundsAdded "Beats" optionDecreased non-VR FOV. v1.4.2.3: Added back force feedback on crashAdded road markers in Forest (Night)Improved destructible objectsImproved driving physics (now it changes depending on speed)Tweaked road generation (sharper turns, etc)Fixed wipers stutteringSome other bug fixes. v1.0.9.4: Before I started adding the new features, I've decided to improve and fix what's already here. Since the controls are very important, there's now support for assigning each action to keyboard/any controller. I've found that reflections are a huge improvement for the visuals, so I've tried to optimize the game to run in VR with high reflections on without such a huge performance impact. So far, I've managed to get some really nice results and as far as I've tested, it now runs very well on my system.Added new control settings with better controller supportAdded back the day/night cycleAdded back fireworksAdded auto camera control optionHuge performance improvementUpdated the menusFixed and improved VR menu mouse controlFixed the rain going inside the carFixed traffic car shadowsChanged traffic car model to improve performanceRemoved street lamps and halos to improve performanceChanged the mountains in the Forest environmentFixed movement of clouds
